Jim Penniston is a former security officer in the United States Air Force and was directly involved in one of the most definite UFO encounters in history. The event took place in the Rendlesham forest at Suffolk England in December 1980. Penniston was stationed at Royal Air Force Station Woodbridge, which was in use by the US Air Force at the time. Strange lights were reported in the forest and Sgt. Penniston was one of the first on the scene. He allegedly claimed to have encountered a “craft of unknown origin” and he took descriptive notes on the encounter. Today it is regarded as one of the most definite sightings of a UFO and Sgt. Penniston has been featured on numerous television programs to tell his story.
