Sony's new controller was first shown at the PS4 reveal event in February. Mike Cerny, who served as lead system architect for the PS4, said it was designed with "key partners in the development community to enhance the feel of the joystick and the trigger buttons".

The DualShock 4 features a touchpad in the centre body, a 'share' button which is used to record, edit and upload gameplay, and headphone jack for social interactions. It is also fitted with motion control capabilities.

But how does it feel in the hand? We've put together a video preview with our impressions of Sony's new controller to tell you just that. In the video below Official PlayStation Magazine's Joel Gregory talks us through the Dualshock 4, letting us know how one of gaming's most established controllers has evolved for the next generation.
