NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Fertilizer stocks fell Wednesday, adding to steep declines in the prior session after Russian producer Uralkali said potash prices could plunge to $300 by year end. Shares of Mosaic Co. were down more than 6% Wednesday, the biggest decline in the S&P; 500 . Shares of Potash Corp of Saskatchewan were down 5.6%. On Tuesday, Mosaic saw its biggest dollar drop since Oct. 2, 2008. It closed at $43.81, a 17.3% drop. Potash Corp of Saskatchewan saw its lowest close Tuesday since July 14, 2010. The stock closed at $31.63, a 16.5% drop.
