Newsbrief: Just eight months after a couple of former PopCap staffers were acquired by Valve, the two parties have made the decision to split.

Tod Semple (pictured) and Jeff Gates founded Star Filled Studios back in September, and were quickly acquired by Valve. However, Semple has now told IGN that he and Gates are back working by themselves again, now under the studio name Temple Gates Games.

Valve confirmed the split. Semple and Gates have been allowed to continue working on the game they were developing while at Valve, and have been given permission to keep working in the same offices. More at IGN.
