MARGAO, Jan 29: Mehtab Hussain had a game of two halves, methaphorically speaking. He scored Mohun Bagan's first goal, in the second half against Dempo, earning his team a well-deserved draw here on Sunday. Used as a defensive screen in the first half, Mehtab was barely visible on the field. Then Bagan coach Johar Das used him in his favourite attacking position he orchestrated almost every attack. It was a game where Dempo outplayed Bagan in the first half, with the Kolkata team roaring...

KOLKATA, February 9: The fairytale is all but over. As referee Rizwan-ul Haq's long blast ended 90 minutes of high-voltage action at the rain-sodden Salt Lake Stadium, it signalled a result which satisfied Dempo but hurt Mohun Bagan. NEW DELHI, November 3: After his four-goal blitzkrieg against HAL on the opening day, Odafe Onyeka Okoli returned with yet another round of goal-scoring spree. A predator that he is, the Nigerian striker was in ruthless form, taking his tally to nine goals in two games, as he hammered in five goals for Churchill Brothers as they decimated Central Railways 6-1. It helped the Goans earn a place in the semifinals of the Osian's Durand Cup, where they will take on Air-India who ousted...

MARGAO: Dempo SC have roped in Viva Kerala's striker Anil Kumar and Vasco's midfielder Savio Fernandes for the coming season. The 29-year old Viva Kerala striker, who is presently training with the India senior squad in New Delhi , was the second highest Indian goal scorer in this season's I-League with 11 goals to his credit. Kumar's pace and ability to score goals have caught the eyes of coach Armando Colaco , said Dempo's...
