Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar has complained to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh against the ministry of road transport and highways for its letter directing Goa to withdraw the so-called entry tax. Conveying his "anguish" over the letter written by deputy secretary (transport) Nandan Singh directing Goa to "take steps for withdrawal"   of the entry tax, Parrikar has demanded that the letter be withdrawn, an enquiry ordered as to how the letter was written and action against the officer.

Comparing chief minister Manohar Parrikar to the former Portuguese dictator Salazar, a forum called Goynche Niz Mogi demanded that Parrikar should also be prosecuted with 151 individuals named in the Justice M B Shah Commission report. He claimed that Parrikar was arrogant and his methods would cost Goans dearly.
