A total of 4,32,394 people in Dakshina Kannada district have registered themselves to obtain Aadhar cards as on July 21, Deputy Commissioner N Prakash said.

Last year, teachers had received a notice from the department to register for Aadhar cards or miss their salaries. Many schools had then set up the registering process inside the school campus to make the process easier for teachers. "This rule is applicable to all schools, not matter which board they are affiliated to, and the deadline has to be adhered to," added Chavan.
