Football FILE - In this Sunday, June 2, 2013 file photo, England's Wayne Rooney stands during the British national anthem before the start of an international friendly siccer match against Brazil at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With no competitive matches in Europe, it's the intrigue over the futures of Wayne Rooney, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez and Cesc Fabregas largely filling the void during the offseason. European clubs could be on the verge of doing hundreds of millions of dollars in transfer business before the Sept. 2 cutoff, defying both the economic climate on the continent and UEFA's relatively new Financial Fair Play rules.
