Everybody likes shiny things. We have a brand new set of features coming up tomorrow that, for the sake of argument, we shall say are shiny. They make our site go faster, allow you more sorting options for your databases, and add some behind the scenes spit and polish to the news and forums. Like I said, shiny. However, said updates will cause our site to be unavailable for about 30 minutes, starting at 10:30 am PDT on Thursday morning.

We had quite a backlog of new chapters over the weekend, but I just cleared it out. If you were waiting for a chapter to come through, check for its status now. Remember, if you already have a chapter, a second one is not often easily approved. Also, don't forget to disband chapters that aren't going to be active, it helps everyone find a chapter that is actually doing things.

Update: The time for the upgrade has been rescheduled for 3:00pm PDT. That is 20 minutes from now. It should take no more than an hour.
Well, it is time for a much needed site update - we've got a round of features and fixes to put up. However, doing so will require bungie.net's database server to be taken offline for an extended period of time. So, at about 3:30pm PDT, all bungie.net web services will be taken offline. Everything will be back online no later than 5:00pm PDT, but hopefully much sooner than that.

We're still waiting for the official word on when the Finals will be broadcast on G4 TV. A quick look at the
schedule for the show Arena lists a date in late September, so that's our best guess. This isn't yet confirmed, we'll let you know when it is. In the meantime figure out how to get the station, or find someone that has it and plan a LAN party at their house for that evening!
