UPS Extends Team TAISAN Sponsorship

Tokyo, August 11, 2011

Handles International Transportation for Super GT and Other Races

UPS Japan has announced that it has renewed its one-year sponsorship agreement with the Team TAISAN car racing team. As team sponsor, UPS will continue to support the transportation of Team TAISAN's racing car parts and equipment. The UPS logo will also be featured on Team TAISAN's racing cars and racing suits.

Under this sponsorship agreement, which started in July 2010, UPS will support Team TAISAN's participation in the Super GT, EV-GP (Electric-Vehicle Grand Prix) and other car races in Japan.

Masato Umeno, President, UPS Japan, said, "We are honored to be able to continue to support Team TAISAN by providing UPS's international transportation expertise. We are proud of their excellent track record in Japanese car racing and we wish them all the best as they take on new challenges such as the EV racing. We are confident that our extensive global network and quality services will contribute to the team's continued success in this year's racing."

UPS and Team TAISAN have also collaborated in philanthropic activities like inviting children from the Chofu Gakuen foster home to watch last year's Formula NIPPON FUJI SPRINT CUP and visiting Team TAISAN's pit garage.
