Channel 5 are getting rid of the Big Brother live feed

Big Brother's live feed has been axed from Channel 5's schedules from next week.

The reality TV show had brought back the live feed for two hours each night on 5* this series, but will cancel it after just three weeks.

A spokesperson confirmed to Digital Spy: "Big Brother's live streaming has been removed from the 5* schedule from next week."

No reason for stopping the house action has been given.

When Big Brother was originally shown on Channel 4 in 2000, it launched with a round-the-clock live feed but this was cut back in 2008 when viewer figures fell.

Big Brother 11, the final series on Channel 4, brought back the 24-hour live feed but put it online only as paid-for content.

When Channel 5 bought the rights to Big Brother in 2011 they announced there would be no live feed, but in 2012 showed short bursts on 5* after major house events and announced before this year's series 14 launch that the two-hour nightly live feed would be back.

Big Brother's live feed will cease from July 6.
