    Ian Frazer has contributed significantly to the health of mankind by developing a technology which has become the basis of a vaccine to prevent infection with human papillomavirus and hence prevent cervical cancer. This vaccine, which has recently been licenced in many countries worldwide, has the potential to save up to 0.25 million lives annually. Professor Frazer's team continue to work on the development of novel vaccines and immunotherapeutics.
