The Royal Society Enterprise Fund is managed by Dr Andrew Mackintosh, Chief Executive, who is supported by Mr Kalim Rahim. Dr Andrew Mackintosh also sits on the Board.
Dr Andrew Mackintosh joined the Royal Society as founding Chief Executive of the new Royal Society Enterprise Fund in February 2008. Andrew has over 20 years of commercial and general management experience in publicly and privately owned high-technology businesses, including spin-out companies from both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Andrew has a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, is a former Royal Society Research Fellow, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and of the Institute of Physics and has served on numerous national and regional committees concerned with technical innovation and competitiveness. He currently sits on the boards of several early-stage companies. He speaks fluent French and conversational Japanese.
Kalim Rahim is an Investment Analyst at the Royal Society Enterprise Fund, responsible for origination, analysis, structuring, execution, and monitoring of investments. Prior to joining the Royal Society Enterprise Fund, Kalim was an Analyst at Macquarie Capital Advisers where he focused on private equity transactions. He holds a BSc in Physics with Business and Management from the University of Manchester.
