Japanese manga magazine offers mail-away anime DVD to readers

Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine has announced on Wednesday that it will offer a special mail-away DVD of Detective Conan (Case Closed) to all readers. The 980-yen (US$9.18) DVD will contain Meitantei Conan: Joshi Kōsei Tantei Suzuki Sonoko no Jikenbō (Detective Conan: The Case Files of Sonoko Suzuki, Female High School Detective), a new story not seen before in Gosho Aoyama's original manga or the television anime series. The 25-minute episode will recount a murder in the editorial offices of the Weekly News magazine. Detective Conan (Shinichi or Jimmy in North America) gets some unexpected help on the case from Sonoko (Serena), the friend of Conan's love interest.

The mail-away offer is available in Issue 15 (released on March 12) through Issue 25 of Shonen Sunday and ends on May 28. It is also available to readers of Coro-Coro Comic magazine and the six Shōgaku Ichi—Rokunensei magazines.
