For the past two years the BBC has been experimenting with 3D television, but the technology hasn't quite caught on the way the corporation would've hoped. Because of this, 3D programming will be put on hiatus at the end of this year, with the BBC potentially revisiting the technology three years from now. According to the BBC's Kim Shillinglaw, the decision was made simply due to a lack of interest. "I have never seen a very big appetite for 3D television in the UK," she told RadioTimes.com.
