As you are aware, full and effective national implementation is a key objective of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). Customs Authorities are one of the most important stakeholders and valuable partners in this regard. This Forum seeks to provide an interactive platform for customs officials from States Parties who are involved in the implementation of the CWC.

Through this Forum, we intend to provide essential knowledge about provisions of the Convention as well as appropriate information and tools to undertake monitoring and risk assessment of traded scheduled chemicals. More importantly, the Forum aims at facilitating the sharing of experiences and best practices, and in addition, creating networks between the Customs Authorities, thereby contributing to the object and purpose of the Convention and creating a world free of chemical weapons.
