TV adaptation of Chūya Koyama's manga slated for April 2012

Kodansha began streaming an 82-second announcement ad for the anime adaptation of Chūya Koyama's Uchū Kyōdai (Space Bros.) manga on Monday.

The combined 4th/5th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the television anime adaptation has been green-lit for an April 2012 premiere.

The original manga's story follows two brothers, Mutta and Hibito, who made a vow as kids to travel to space. The younger Hibito became an astronaut. Mutta did not, but his life changes on one fateful day.

A separate live-action film adaptation of Uchū Kyōdai will open on May 5, 2012 in Japan with the "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" theme song performed by the British rock band Coldplay.
