The Japanese publisher Kodansha announced the results of its 35th Annual Manga Awards on Thursday.

The winners will be honored in a ceremony on July 5 at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward. Each winner will receive a certificate, a bronze statue, and 1 million yen (about US$12,000). Inazuma Eleven, Ace of Diamond, Kuragehime, and Giant Killing won last year's awards.

Strobe Edge GN 2 & 3Strobe Edge continues to be a thoughtful manga about a girl discovering what it means to grow up. Featuring actual nice guys (at least so far), both a heroine and a rival who are sympathetic, and attention to detail, this is a series that romance fans and those borderline sick of romance should enjoy.

By taking into account the girls' friendship, and therefore their genuine fondness for each other's personalities, Morinaga gives us a story with characters in a relationship that is both more believable and easier to get behind than in many a romance manga.

A delightfully light comedy, heavy on cute girls caught up in cute situations and supported by an infectious sense of fun.
Dirty Pair: Features DVD Collection DVDAll in all, this is a very nice collection. It is equally as enjoyable for those who are coming from the Dirty Pair TV and OAV releases and for those who are curious but don't want to invest in the longer shows. While all three employ different methods to tell their stories, Kei and Yuri remain engaging heroines and even when the story isn't as good as it could be, it is always entertaining.
