Assassin's Creed 4 book tie-ins detailed

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be supplemented by a novel and art book, Ubisoft has confirmed.

A novel based on the game will release on November 7 in the UK through Penguin Books, and November 26 in the US through Ace Books.

Written by Oliver Bowden, the novel will act as an origins story for the game's protagonist Edward Kenway. According to Ubisoft, the novel will follow Kenway as he makes "his name known for being on of the greatest pirates of his time."

Meanwhile, The Art of Assassin's Creed will release through Titan Books on October 28. A special slipcase edition will be available in a limited run of 500 copies, and will include two concept art prints signed by Ubisoft artists.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will release for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Wii U on October 30.

According to Ubisoft's CEO at a recent investor conference, Assassin's Creed 4 is not expected to outsell its predecessor, which shipped 12 million copies.
