Grid 2 getting a single £125K special edition, includes an actual race car

The Grid 2 Mono Edition will bundle the upcoming racer, a PlayStation 3, a real-life BAC Mono supercar and a host of other perks in a single, unprecedentedly expensive package, Codemasters revealed on PlayStation Blog today. The Mono Edition — appropriately named, as only one unit will be produced and sold — will retail for £125,000; a price assumedly reached due to the package's inclusion of a 170 mph BAC Mono supercar featuring a Grid 2-themed paint job. The bundle will also secure its buyer a tour of the BAC factory, where they'll be able to customize their new ride, a Grid 2-decorated helmet, race suit, boots and gloves and a PlayStation 3. Metro: Last Light, Grid 2 discounted for PlayStation Plus members

PlayStation Plus members will be able to grab Metro: Last Light for 20 percent off ($47.99) and the Grid 2 pre-order at a 10 percent discount ($53.99) starting this week, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog. Following the update, cross-buy platform adventure game Knytt Underground will also be added to the Instant Game Collection. PlayStation Plus members will be able to pick it up for free, while regular PSN members can grab it for $14.99. Darksiders and Tekken 6, meanwhile, will no longer be available through the Instant Game Collection as of May 21. Darksiders joined the Instant Game Collection in Janurary of this year, while Tekken 6 became available in March. Check out the full details for this week's PlayStation Store update here.

Go your own way in Grid 2's multiplayer modes

Grid 2's developers at Codemasters are attempting to address both AI and human racers, and are hoping that their work — along with deeper integration with RaceNet, the studio's online hub — will make the game's multiplayer mode appealing and engrossing for as wide a variety of players as possible. At a recent press event, members of the Grid 2 team described the objectives they wanted to achieve in multiplayer before we tried rounds of a few different types of races. "We're looking to extend the Grid 2 experience beyond the console into desktop and mobile," began Lee Roberts, senior designer on RaceNet.
