Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director at Dulux said "It is impossible to think about the Olympic Opening Ceremony without feeling a huge sense of national pride and joy. The achievement of the Olympic team who collectively delivered a global event that will have a place in our hearts for the rest of our lives is astounding and I am delighted to have the honour of presenting the Dulux Lets Colour Award for the Colour Moment of the Year as token of our gratitude for using colour in the most spectacular and memorable way."
The Producers of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony weren’t the only people with cause for celebration as Bill Morris shared “The Wildflower Meadows in the Olympic Park were also award winners (and of course they will remain in legacy) and there were numerous other nominations linked to the London 2012 Games. All of which confirms that the Games were an outstanding contributor to one of the most colourful years in memory”.
Paul Simmons, Co-founder of Timorous Beasties said "Wildflower Meadows at the London Olympics exceeded anyone's expectations, it gave us more than what one could have imagined, it created something from nothing, a big bang of controlled chaos, and beautiful colour, and for those who missed it first time around, it has an on-going legacy."
