Recent Highlights

2010

  • UPS launched UPS Import ControlSM, a new function that gives importers rather than exporters greater control over their inbound shipments. The new service reduces delays to the shipping process due to incorrect or incomplete documentation, and gives importers the ability to mask profit margins as they ship directly to end-customers.
  • UPS introduced its carbon neutral programme in the Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia. UPS customers now have the option of paying a small fee to calculate and offset the impact of the carbon emissions associated with their shipments.
  •  June 3, 2010 – UPS has formed an alliance with PosLaju the leading Malaysian courier company and jointly launched PosLaju International Premium, a day-definite, international express delivery service with money-back guarantee serving over 215 countries. The new service is available at all 52 PosLaju outlets in Malaysia and will on average, shorten the international transit time of packages and documents by half.

2008

  • UPS strengthens its Asia service portfolio with eight new products aimed at simplifying global trade for Asian companies conducting business internationally.  Leading the 2008 charge is a simplified global suite of three services for shipping international air freight, including a substantially expanded express freight option with guaranteed door-to-door service.

2007

  • UPS introduced three daily time-definite delivery options.  The new services provide customers with more flexibility on lanes between the United States and Asia, Europe and the Americas, giving businesses three time-of-day delivery options in 30 of the world’s most active trading markets.

2006

  • UPS enter an alliance with Petronas gas stations to allow customers to drop off packages for delivery at its gas stations.

2004

  • UPS introduced UPS CampusShipTM in Malaysia, offering customers the advantage of Web-based shipping solutions with centralised control and visibility ideal for decentralised office environments.

2003

  • UPS introduced UPS World EaseSM in Malaysia, offering customers the advantage of consolidated customs clearance.

2002

  • UPS Malaysia introduced SMS (short message service) tracking – allowing customers to keep track of their packages at any time of the day or night no matter where they were.
