Camerata de Lausanne

Founded by its leader Pierre Amoyal, the Camerata de Lausanne is a string ensemble that upholds the tradition of performing without a conductor. The talented young musicians who make up the ensemble are drawn from all over the world, but represent a homogeneous and dynamic group with a shared instrumental tradition.

Since 2002, the Camerata de Lausanne has performed in major concert halls throughout the world, expanding its repertoire and its professional activities with each fresh encounter. An open-minded ensemble that is keen to tackle new projects, the Camerata de Lausanne is always ready to work with other ensembles, accompany dancers, or perform for young audiences. Whatever the place or the context, the group’s main priority is to place its technical and musical expertise in the service of evocative music and to share it with audiences from all backgrounds and cultures.

The Camerata de Lausanne is supported by the City of Lausanne, the University of Music Lausanne, the État de Vaud and the Loterie Romande.
