Editorial board

The editorial board of The Telegraph meets once a week to discuss the latest news and public policy issues and determine the editorial positions of the newspaper. The board strives to address a broad range of topics affecting the lives of our readers.

The editorial board It is comprised of the publisher, vice president for digital media, the executive managing editor, the editorial page editor and the metro editor.

The Telegraph's editorial opinions are reached by the consensus of the editorial board. These opinions are independent of the newspaperÂ’s news coverage and do not influence other content.

Terry Williams is president of Telegraph Publishing Co. of Hudson, NH, the publisher of The Telegraph and nashuatelegraph.com.

He has been with Telegraph Publishing since 1988, serving first as a regional editor before becoming managing editor in 1990 and publisher in 1994. During his tenure, the company purchased Parenting New Hampshire, New Hampshire Magazine, NH.com, New Hampshire Business Review and Cabinet Press Inc., publishers of the Milford Cabinet, Hollis-Brookline Journal, Merrimack Journal and Bedford Journal.

Also during that time, The Telegraph and its affiliate businesses started nashuatelegraph.com and web sites for all of its publications; New Hampshire Home magazine; The Lobby, a website focused on state business and politics; and, more recently a website promoting the use of coupons. Telegraph Entertainment, just recently organized, is the company's division that publishes Encore, the paper's Thursday entertainment and dining section, and stages more than 10 annual events.

The Telegraph has won dozens of awards for journalism and overall quality, including numerous Newspaper of the Year honors for both daily and Sunday papers from the former New England Newspaper Association, the former New England Press Association and the New Hampshire Press Association. The paper's sports section has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors as one of the top 10 sections in the country for its circulation size.

Williams is a former reporter for Foster's Daily Democrat of Dover and a former reporter and city editor at The Sun of Lowell, MA. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Conservation.

Williams is active in both industry and local organizations. He is board of directorsÂ’ chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters for Greater Nashua and Greater Salem, and immediate past chairman of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce. He is president of the New England Newspaper and Press Association and a member of the New England First Amendment Coalition's executive committee. He also sits on the publisher's advisory board of Stars & Stripes newspaper, based in Washington, DC.

Williams has served as both board member and president of several local charitable non-profit organizations including Great American Downtown of Nashua, the Adult Learning Center of Nashua and the Nashua Pastoral Care Center. He is a past board member of New Hampshire Public Radio, the Greater Nashua Salvation Army advisory board and the Greater Nashua United Way board of directors. He is past president of the New England Associated Press News Executives Association and a past trustee at his church.

Terry resides in Londonderry with his wife, Julie.

Shana Hoch has been at The Telegraph since 2004 and has worked at three other newspaper operations since entering the industry in 1998. She currently oversees digital operations for The Telegraph Publishing Company and its affiliates. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Journalism from the University of New Hampshire, and Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University. Shana is responsible for strategic development, business development, and project management in the digital media department at The Telegraph. She works to diversify our strengths and increase our value to the communities we serve.

Shana serves as a member of the board for the Adult Learning Center of Nashua and Dudley's Bakery. She's a volunteer Score small business counselor, and a past member of the steering committee for Nashua's young professional organization IUGO. Shana is married with two children, and enjoys hiking and reading.

Nick Pappas joined The Telegraph in 1989 as business editor before moving on to serve as city editor, managing editor, editor-in-chief and now editorial page editor. During much of that time, he was responsible for coordinating coverage of all state and federal elections, including the New Hampshire presidential primary.

Since being named editorial page editor in September 2007, he has been responsible for content and daily production of the Opinion section. He also heads the newspaper's editorial board, coordinating interviews with newsmakers and candidates for federal, state and local office.

Nick was named editorial writer of the year in 2009 and 2011 by the New England Newspaper and Press Association in The Telegraph's circulation category. He also was named the recipient of the New Hampshire Press Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

He is a former president of the New England Associated Press News Executives Association and previously served on the board of directors of the New Hampshire Press Association. He was state coordinator for Sunshine Week from 2006-11.

Prior to joining The Telegraph, he was the suburban editor of The Willimantic Chronicle in Connecticut, and city editor and Sunday editor of The Sun in Lowell, Mass. A graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, he resides in Hudson with his wife, Susan.

Executive Managing Editor Phil Kincade began his New Hampshire newspaper career covering the delivery of Seabrook Station's reactor core in 1979. Before joining the Telegraph's staff in 2010 we worked for more than 30 years at Foster's Daily Democrat in Dover where he served in several capacities including Statehouse Bureau Chief, Editorial Page Editor, Assistant Managing Editor and Managing Editor for Online News and Content. He's a 1978 graduate of Indiana University and lives in Durham.

Jonathan Van Fleet, managing editor for content, has worked at The Telegraph since 2000. He coordinates watchdog and enterprise projects for online and print. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
