What is an RSS feed and why do I want one?

As a service to its readers, who increasingly look at several different Web sites over the course of the day, nashuatelegraph.com now offers free headlines via "RSS." RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary.

RSS allows news sites to easily syndicate content in a format that is quickly accessible to readers. Unlike most of nashuatelegraph.com, which is based on HTML, RSS uses an XML-based format. The nashuatelegraph.com feeds include headlines, descriptions and links to articles currently on the site. As the site is updated so are the feeds.

Sounds cool, so how to I get one of these feeds?

Nashuatelegraph.com does not provide these, but there are many available for download online and many of them are free. Most news readers are applications that you download and install.
