Ubisoft Montreal consults security firm for Watch Dogs

Efforts made towards authentic hacking

Ubisoft Montreal is seeking feedback on Watch Dogs from a real world internet security firm.

Ubisoft Montreal senior producer Dominic Guay told Joystiq that the studio is talking with security firm Kaspersky Lab in an effort to ensure the game's hacking is authentic.

"They have really hardcore experts there on hacking," Guay said. "We send them some of our designs and we ask them feedback on it, and it's interesting to see what gets back. Sometimes they say, 'Yeah that's possible but change that world,' or, 'That's not the way it works'."

Guay reinforced that Watch Dogs is not focused on hacking mini-games, but rather the player's ability to plan their approach using the tools at their disposal.

A six minute Watch Dogs gameplay video released earlier today following CVG's in-depth preview. Watch Dogs will release for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on November 19 in North America and November 22 in Europe and Australia. The game will be a launch title for PS4.
