Monster Hunter 4, which is scheduled to release this summer in Japan, is expected to sell 2.8 million units by next April. The 3DS exclusive has yet to receive a western release date.

Meanwhile, multiplatform release Resident Evil: Revelations is forecast to sell 1.2 million units between launch later this month and the end of the financial year.

Sales of fellow multiplatform game Lost Planet 3, which was recently delayed to August, are also expected to come in at 1.2 million units.

Yesterday, Capcom announced its financial results for the business year ended March 31 2013, which showed an increase in net sales but a 56 per cent profit decline year-on-year.

During the period, flagship game Resident Evil 6 sold 4.9 million units, failing to meet Capcom's initial projection of seven million units shipped.

In contrast, new IP Dragon's Dogma exceeded expectations with sales of 1.3 million units, while series reboot DmC Devil May Cry moved a "solid" 1.1 million copies, enjoying "stable popularity in overseas markets".
