UPS was recognized as one of the top 100 global brands, according to Interbrand. The research firm evaluated each company's financial strength, and how the company's brand influences consumer demand, as well as the brand's ability to secure ongoing customer demand.
UPS was cited for its expansion in online, supply chain and freight services, focus on international markets, and aggressive marketing strategies, such as the sponsorship of the Beijing Olympics and U.S. ad campaigns.

An annual reputation quotient survey by Harris Interactive showed that UPS again is among the most visible companies in the eyes of American consumers. The company ranked No. 13 based on reputation in six categories: emotional appeal, products and services, social responsibility, vision and leadership, workplace environments and financial performance. UPS ranked #2 for the Inbound Logistics 2008 Top 100 3PL Excellence Awards. More than 300 companies participated and those service providers selected were among those that offered diverse operational capabilities and experience to meet readers' unique supply chain and logistics needs.
According to the magazine, UPS was chosen based on criteria, including responsive to customer needs and its ability to offer strategic solutions designed to drive business process improvement and change.
For the fourth consecutive year, Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index ranked UPS #1 in the Parcel Delivery category, citing brands best able to engage consumers and create loyal customers.
UPS has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a research-based group dedicated to identifying and sharing best practices in business ethics, compliance, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance. The Institute cited UPS for using ethics as a corporate business strategy.
UPS was again named one of the most reputable global companies, according to the third annual survey by the Reputation Institute and reported by Forbes magazine. The company ranked No. 15 of the 600 largest companies in the world and No. 6 on the U.S. listing for having the best corporate reputation. The Reputation Institute indicated that a company's reputation is built on seven pillars: products/services, innovation, workplace, citizenship, governance, leadership, and performance.
UPS was cited as having the best commercial fleet by Light & Medium Truck magazine. The 100 companies on the list were ranked based on the number of trucks, regardless of size, owned or leased.
UPS ranked No. 24 on the 100 Most Powerful Brands list, published by global market research and consulting firm Millward Brown and the Financial Times newspaper. The ranking combines the financials with solid measures of consumer sentiment derived from a repository of brand equity data.
