The screens show the three protagonists in a variety of situations, including scuba diving, heisting, and driving a car off the side of a turnpike.

GTA V releases for PS3 and Xbox 360 in September. Rumours of an unannounced PC edition have escalated following listings on retail websites.

CVG's exhaustive GTA V preview notes many of the new mechanics and mini-games introduced in the new installment.

I'm going to be addicted to this like I was with SA, can't think of the level of detail and effort put into this gargantuan game

Agreed.Think this is going to be special.Let's hope they don't overhype it though, before it's released.

The 4th screenshot shows I'm assuming shows Franklin shooting at members of The Ballas recognized by their purple clothes while wearing green the colour of The Grove Street Families. Hopefully this hints towards the gang gameplay from San Andreas returning as I enjoyed that particular gamplay mechanic  ...

Looks great cannot wait. This is going to be something i might have to buy an xbox for just so i can play it i will hate having to wait for the PC version.

Also, thanks for putting all the screenshots on one page.

Oh my god I'm so stoked for this game. The countryside/desert was my favourite thing about San Andreas. Looking forwards to just exploring them in this.

Astonishing level of detail here, with every release of trainer/screenshots comes more and more impatience! Glad they delayed this as R* can make sure its 100% ready, unlike most developers who release shoddy bug infested pieces of s**t for our £40-50! September really can not come quick enough! :D 8)

Looks absolutely stunning! Anybody who says that this is graphically poor has no soul.

There is no way that these screen shots are from current console versions!

Maybe PC maybe next gen? The clean edges and draw distance give it away big time.

Disagree. Just looking at some of these screens like Franklin doing a drive - by dressed in green makes me confident this is indeed shots taken from the PS3 version that R* seem to be showing. While they look great a little more polish in some sections would do no harm.

With Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix and this both coming out so close to each other I'm really looking forward to September this year. :P

That costal highway really excites me. One thing that I disliked about GTA IV is that there was no really opportunity to go for a long cruise in your favourite car. It's looks to have the lovely blend of the freedom and openness found in Just Cause (of course a lot smaller) and the huge amount of features found in San Andreas.

I think these screenshots are from PC, since GTA5 is being developed on the PC. I'll beleive it when I see it if these screenshots are form consoles, but since the consoles lack the the memory, I doubt it. :)

So much to do, in such a big game, so many task and options; yet I bet I still can't play in first-person! Why's the industry so scared to allow gamers to choose their preferred play-option?

I can't remember the last game I was so looking forward to play.

Hmm, i'm kinda hoping that bit is either altered or removed. Not saying it wasn't easy but when you were actually trying to play the main game you ended up losing a lot of ground to the other gangs due to attacks happening when you were going to start a mission. By the time i had finished the first two island i hardly had any ground left. But then again if you just waited until you had finished the main game and gotten your pilots license then getting to those trouble spots was easy, the amount of gang wars i had around the burning wreckage of an airliner was staggering.

Like others have mentioned, I simply do not believe that ALL of these screenshots are from current gen hardware. Perhaps 1 or 2 are, but the rest are clearly PC/Next-Gen screenshots.

As much as I simply cannot wait to play GTAV, I think I'll wait until the PC (or maybe even PS4) version is released to get the best possible fidelity. A game like GTAV deserves no less!

The only way that is from the PS3 is if it has a photomode feature, allowing you to save certain points of the game then exit the game to a photomode where you can manipulate and save a screen shot in high detail and resolution.
    Much like GT5.

Rockstar don't make first person games. Most developers go for either 1st or 3rd person, the only developers I can think of that allow the player to choose is Bethesda (Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim). Even then, although I sometimes switch to 3rd person when wandering around, I find a lot of the game unplayable (especially combat) in that perspective as it feels like it was designed to be played in 1st person. (even though I much prefer 3rd person games)

It's probably extremely difficult to give the player the option and even harder making sure the game plays equally well in both perspectives. It's far wiser to just focus on one or the other.

Look at the ground to the right of the car in #3, how low res it is, that's current console, no way PC would look like that (hopefully). Also same in #12, another low-res blurry texture to the right of the bike.
