Black Sabbath

The film’s name inspired the heavy metal band led by Ozzy Osbourne

If the resurgence of portmanteau films like V/H/S has fired your imagination, don’t miss Italian master Mario Bava’s wonderful horror anthology.

The Telephone is a sexy Sapphic giallo; The Wurdalak, based on a Tolstoy story (!) and starring Boris Karloff, is an object lesson in mistshrouded  Gothica; while The Drop Of Water is a terrifying tale of beyond-thegrave vengeance.

This exemplary re-release contains an expert commentary, introduction and interviews, as well as the original European and much-abused American versions.

The film’s name inspired the heavy metal band; the camp coda beggars belief.
