What with Christopher Nolan's presence as producer, and the moody, epic look of the most recent trailer, fans could be forgiven for thinking Man Of Steel would be taking rather a large leaf from the Dark Knight handbook.
However, Henry Cavill has argued that despite Nolan's involvement, the new film will be very much the creation of director Zack Snyder.
"Chris Nolan wasn’t there during the production itself," reveals Cavill, "although I’m not sure how much work was done behind the scenes. I’m sure Zack had a phone call or two with him, but this is definitely Zack’s baby."
"He was the man in charge, and we created the character together, as opposed to having too many outside influences. It’s a collaborative process and Zack wants us to talk to him about stuff and work with him on his ideas. If you say, ‘how about I do this,’ he’ll say ‘I don’t know if I like it yet, but give it a shot.’”
Reassuring then, that this should be a very different beast from the Dark Knight films, rather than an attempt to replicate that success with another DC Comics character.
We'll find out for sure when Man Of Steel opens in the UK on 14 June 2013. In the meantime, check out hi-res versions of the latest banner posters below:

I didn't like the Nolan films besides The Dark Knight, so this probably qualifies as good news for me.

lets hope Nolan reins in snyders dodgy sexual politics at least. Otherwise lois lane will probably have to offer herself to Zod in order to save superman in a jarring, sleazy subplot that throws the rest of the movie down the toilet.

Not good news! Mind you, the first thing that was done was to design a funky new costume, so its no surprise. This dead franchise is perfect for 'all surface' Snyder.

Snyders film? Ok, guess there'll be a sequence where superman punches one person, kicks another and then clotheslines someone in slo-mo. Even the one about owls had that scene in. But fairs fair, its a comic, we dont need every superhero film wanting us killing ourselves with its grittiness.
