After the longest console cycle ever, next-gen finally arrived this February and – here’s the important bit – everything has changed. This isn’t simply about more of the same with better hair (although, seriously, PS4 hair is to die for) this is about Sony fundamentally remoulding the very future of gaming.
Frobisher Says! was an early Vita highlight so that alone means we’ve reserved a bit of excitement for whatever developer Honeyslug does next. That thing is Hohokum, a cartoony collaboration with Sony Santa Monica and artist Richard Hogg.
PS4 will arrive with a whole new bunch of tricks, and few people have done more to push the boundaries of how we interact with games than Hideo Kojima. Back in your box, Mr Bellic.
Invites are doing the rounds for a special Gran Tursimo event at Silverstone on the 15th of May. Among the GT info is a promised “announcement about its future”. Given the number of mentions of an upcoming Gran Turismo 6 PS3 release, that seems the most likely option.
Shuhei Yoshida has said Sony “didn’t even consider” an always online connection for PS4. The reason being the variation in quality of internet connections around the world. PS4 always online not considered Speaking to GI (via CVG), Yoshida said, ”It makes sense for people to have internet connections to play online games, but for offline games there are many countries that we saw do not really have robust internet… We didn’t even consider that.” He…
The first inFamous: Second Son screens and info have emerged from this months GI. It features a 24-year-ols Native American hero called Delsin Rowe, described as, “the artistic type with a chip on his soldier”.
Following on from a slew of indie game annoucments Sony have announced a special Store area to campion and promote independent content. This is a good thing as it hopefully means loads of cheap and interesting games.
