One million Defiance accounts registered

Trion celebrates milestone one month after launch

Trion Worlds says open world shooter Defiance surpassed a million registered users in its first month of availability.

Launched on April 2 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Defiance sees players scouring a transformed Earth competing for alien technology.

The game is part of a wider trans-media project, tying in with the Syfy TV show of the same name that launched on April 15. The game debuted at No.3 on the UK all formats chart.

We said in our Defiance review: "This was one of the smoothest MMO launches we've seen in recent memory, but right now Defiance feels unfinished and unfulfilling, even if we admire its ambition." Multiple updates have been released since launch.

This game gets boring very quickly. There's no real progression and you are often forced to play on your own.

I thought this was the shooter mmo i had been waiting for but, alas, no.

Well, although the game mechanics are great, the guns are no different from start lvl to a higher lvl, the story missions are SP only and there is no gear to aim for.

I know that its like this, i think, because of the PVP but since I finished the main story I have just had no desire to play it.

I think the trouble is that I though it would be like a shooter version of WoW but its far from it. Clans, currently are pointless and apart form Arkfalls and the Co Op instances, you can basically play the game alone. There is no "help, looking for group to take on so and so mission" etc etc and I think thats what MMO's are about!

for one Story missions are not all SP only occasionaly it get a SP one im on the last Story mission i have never had to play alone at all the reason starting guns can be as good as later ones is that the more you use a certain gun you gain xp with it so you become more efficient with it so when you get a gun later you just have to work with it gain xp with it and use mods to make it better thats not to say you wont get a lower lvl gun thats better then a high lvl the game is more about gun rarity then lvl

Technically, that's conformance, not defiance. Unless they're all being done by one person. One very bored and very driven person trying to smash the system one registered user account at a time.

999,996 of them are severely disappointed with such an average shooter/MMO hybrid.
