Recent Highlights

2011

  • UPS announced the extension of the company’s mobile Web site, m.ups.com to customers in Asia (China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and New Zealand) which allows customers mobile access to track packages, calculate shipping rates and find the nearest UPS location.
  • UPS introduced the UPS Preferred LCL (less-than-container-load) Ocean Freight service to include Bangkok. The service provides up to 40 percent faster port-to-door delivery to the United States for LCL shipments while still delivering the economic advantages of ocean freight.
  • UPS Capital launched the International Customize Declare Value (iCDV) in August 2011 focusing on high value shipments and tagged along with UPS core services.

2010

  • UPS introduced new simplified rate structure.
  • UPS opened Shenzhen Asia Pacific Hub to connect the business beyond Asia. Built at a cost of US$180 million, the hub serves as the main Asian gateway for intra-Asia trade.
  • UPS rolled out two new valued-added products - UPS Import Control and UPS Carbon Neutral empowering UPS customers to control their import shipments and make a difference for Go Green initiative.

2008

  • UPS opened UPS Shanghai International Hub. At a cost of US$125 million, it is UPS’s largest international hub facility in Asia.
  • UPS rolled out four new valued-added technology products; UPS Paperless InvoiceSM , UPS Broker of ChoiceSM , UPS FTZ FacilitatorSM and UPS ReturnsSM  to make it easier for UPS customers to be greater reliability and efficiency in global trades.

2007

  • UPS announced the launch of a new “around the world” flight to further enhance services between Bangkok and growing markets in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. 
  • UPS introduced three daily time-definite delivery options.  The new services provide customers with more flexibility on lanes between the United States and Asia, Europe and the Americas, giving businesses three time-of-day delivery options in 30 of the world’s most active trading markets. 

2004

  • UPS introduced UPS CampusShipTM in Thailand, offering customers the advantage of Web-based shipping solutions with centralized control and visibility ideal for decentralised office environments.

2003

  • UPS launched the Bangkok-Clark-Bangkok flight to provide faster and more reliable services between Bangkok and other key Asian cities.
  • A joint venture with MBE enables UPS to widen its marketing and sales network in the greater Bangkok area.
  • UPS launched a major re-branding campaign to enhance its image and reputation in the local market.
