Recent Highlights

2013

  • UPS announced a new express air freight service, UPS Worldwide Express Freight, for urgent, time-sensitive and high-value international heavyweight shipments. This new service is an extension of the UPS Worldwide Express package portfolio and offers customers a seamless experience between shipping express package and express freight.

2011

  • UPS opened its first dedicated healthcare facility in Asia to serve UPS’s rapid growth of its healthcare business. The 43,000 square-foot distribution facility in Singapore includes cold chain capabilities for products requiring temperature-sensitive storage and distribution as well as postponement services such as re-labeling and kitting.

2010

  • UPS launched UPS Import ControlSM, a new function that gives importers rather than exporters greater control over their inbound shipments. The new service reduces delays to the shipping process due to incorrect or incomplete documentation, and gives importers the ability to mask profit margins as they ship directly to end-customers.
  • UPS introduced its carbon neutral programme in the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore. UPS customers now have the option of paying a small fee to calculate and offset the impact of the carbon emissions associated with their shipments.

2008

  • UPS rolls out 8 new products in 2008 for Asia Pacific. UPS ExpressSM Freight, UPS Air Freight DirectSM, UPS Air Freight ConsolidatedSM, UPS Paperless InvoiceSM, UPS ReturnsSM, UPS Broker of ChoiceSM, UPS FTZ FacilitatorSM and UPS Clinical TrialsSM strengthen our Asia service portfolio with aims at simplifying our Asia service portfolio with aims at simplifying global trade for Asian companies conducting business internationally.

2007

  • UPS announced the launch of a new “around the world” flight to further enhance services between Singapore and growing markets in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. 
  • UPS Singapore was voted as one of the “Top 10 Best Employers 2007” in a survey conducted by Hewitt Associates in partnership with The Straits Times and Business Times.
  • UPS introduced three daily time-definite delivery options.  The new services provide customers with more flexibility on lanes between the United States and Asia, Europe and the Americas, giving businesses three time-of-day delivery options in 30 of the world’s most active trading markets. 

2005

  • UPS Singapore was voted as one of the “Top 10 Best Employers 2005” in a survey conducted by Hewitt Associates in partnership with The Straits Times.

2004

  • UPS introduced UPS CampusShipTM in Singapore, offering customers the advantage of Web-based shipping solution with centralized control and visibility ideal for decentralised office environments.

 

2003

  • UPS introduced UPS World EaseSM, an international shipping option to help businesses save time and money while accelerating service to their customers in other countries.
  • UPS unveiled a “new look” that includes the first redesign in more than 40 years of the company’s famous “shield” logo.

2001

  • UPS opens its first company-built and owned facility in Asia and Singapore.  The 280,000 sq ft UPS House is the base for UPS’s Asia Pacific HQ office, UPS Singapore office and a 70-vehicle Operations Centre, and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.

1988

  • UPS Singapore is established with the acquisition of Asian Courier System and IML.
