American Brand Excellence Awards

The Business Journals named both UPS and The UPS Store as Top 25 Brands in its tenth-annual American Brand Excellence Awards. In addition to being named as a top overall brand, UPS came in first in the Business Services category.

Over 2,200 small-to-mid-sized businesses owners and managers participated in the study. The winners were chosen as the brands who best met the needs of small and mid-sized businesses. The criteria used to select the winners include "easy to do business with," "industry leader," forward thinking," "for growing companies," "behaves ethically," "growing in popularity" and "has a good price for what you get."

UPS was recognized as one of the top 100 global brands, according to Interbrand. The research firm evaluated each company's financial strength, and how the company's brand influences consumer demand, as well as the brand's ability to secure ongoing customer demand.

Top 10 in Reputation — Harris Interactive

UPS ranked #10 on Harris Interactive's latest Reputation Quotient (RQ) Study.

The 13th annual study scored U.S. companies based on six dimensions that influence reputation and consumer behavior: social responsibility, emotional appeal, financial performance, products and services, vision and leadership, and workplace environment. UPS ranked in the Top 10 this year and got the third highest score of all companies for "emotional appeal." The results are based on surveys of more than 17,000 members of the American general public.

UPS Named Largest Courier Company in Poland

UPS Poland (also known as UPS Polska) was named the largest courier by two media publications in Poland, based on separate survey results. The survey sponsored by the daily newspaper "Rzeczpospolita" ranked UPS #1 based on income, the range of services offered and the company's pace of development within Poland. The other survey, sponsored by trade magazines "Eurologistics" and "Truck&Biznes," ranked the company #1 based on an assessment of management efficiency and earnings.

UPS was again named to FORTUNE Magazine's list of "World's Most Admired Companies," ranking among the Top 50 in brand recognition around the world (#33) and #1 in the Delivery category.

This is the fifth year of the survey, which evaluates companies based on their corporate reputation in nine key attributes: Management Quality, People Management, Quality of Products & Services, Global Competitiveness, Financial Soundness, Innovation, Use of Corporate Assets, Long-Term Investment and Social Responsibility.

The Black Book of Outsourcing (# 1) — Datamonitor

UPS earned the top spot for Supply Chain Management Outsourcing in Datamonitor's The Black Book of Outsourcing. UPS also received top honors from the business information and market analysis company for several other categories in the supply chain business process outsourcing area, including Global Sourcing Design & Engineering, Support and Customer Care, and Supply Chain Warehousing.

UPS China named as one of the most valuable firms in China — China Annual Management Awards

UPS China was named one of the 16 most valuable firms recognized for their contributions to China's economy. The honor was announced at the ninth China Annual Management Assembly, a leading management forum. UPS China was one of three non-Chinese companies to be honored, along with LG Electronics and Intel Corp. An annual reputation quotient survey by Harris Interactive showed that UPS again is among the most visible companies in the eyes of American consumers. The company ranked No. 13 based on reputation in six categories: emotional appeal, products and services, social responsibility, vision and leadership, workplace environments and financial performance. Wal-Mart Names UPS Small Package Carrier of the Year

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has selected UPS as the Best Small Package Carrier of the Year.

The annual award recognizes one small package carrier based on a variety of criteria, including on-time performance, billing accuracy, ease of doing business, claims performance, management team communication, flexibility, dependability, technology integration and overall exceptional customer service.

"UPS is extremely honored to receive this prestigious award from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for two consecutive years," said Brian Atterberry, UPS Director of Strategic Accounts. "This reflects the commitment of our entire organization to deliver industry best performance & value-added services to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc."

The award, based on 2006 performance, was announced August 27 in Bentonville, Ark at Wal-Mart's corporate headquarters.

UPS Wins 24th Annual "Quest for Quality" Award

UPS' outstanding performance as a multi-faceted transportation provider has been acknowledged by its winning Logistics Management's 24th annual "Quest for Quality" award. The award is given based on survey where shippers are asked to grade a company's performance, value, information technology, customer service, equipment and operations. Quest for Quality recognizes expedited motor, air express, freight forwarders, surface package and multi-regional less-than-truckload carriers.

UPS executive recognized

UPS Senior Vice President Bob Stoffel was named winner of the 3PL Executive Excellence Award at the June 2007 North American 3PL Summit coordinated by eyefortransport, a global provider of logistics and transportation information and services. Stoffel was cited for his leadership in building the expanded supply chain capabilities of UPS.

Portfolio Managers, Analysts Name UPS CFO-Turned-CEO Best Chief Financial Officer

UPS CFO Scott Davis, now Chairman and CEO, was named Best Chief Financial Officer in the Airfreight and Surface Transportation Industry by Institutional Investor magazine. Portfolio managers and brokerage firm research analysts were asked to choose the best American CFOs in 62 industries.

Business Week Cites UPS as "Customer Service Champ"

Business Week included UPS in the Top 10 of its first-ever ranking of "Customer Service Champs."

The magazine ranked UPS No. 1 in the shipping industry and No. 8 overall out of the Top 25 "client-pleasing brands" that stand out as the best providers of customer service.

UPS was cited for its delivery reliability, training of drivers and managers and its embrace of advanced technology to improve efficiency and customer service at the same time.

UPS Supply Chain Solutions takes top seed in reader survey

A panel of 160 consumer goods company executives ranked UPS Supply Chain Solutions as the top logistics providers according to the 2007 Consumer Goods and Technology Magazine Best In Class edition. UPS was noted for its international cross border movement of goods through technology innovations including Trade Direct. As for Supply Chain Services overall, the magazine stated that the sector is strong heading into 2007 in terms of customer satisfaction in core areas of concern.
