Ali Golkar Azghandi of Iran is one of the most successful Sitting Volleyball players in the history of the Paralympic Games.

His first gold medal came at the Barcelona 1992 Games where Iran overcame the Netherlands in the final of the tournament. At Atlanta 1996 they repeated this feat, winning the gold medal match against Norway.

Four years later Golkar Azghandi picked up his third consecutive Paralympic gold medal in the sport, helping Iran defeat Bosnia Herzegovina in the final at Sydney 2000.

At Athens 2004 Bosnia Herzegovina got revenge, beating Iran 3-2 in the final and denying Golkar Azghandi a fourth gold medal.
