Resident Evil 6 movie releasing September 2014

Sony Pictures and Screen Gems have reportedly confirmed a sixth Resident Evil movie release date of September 12, 2014.

It has yet to be confirmed if Milla Jovovich will return as Alice or if her husband Paul W.S. Anderson will reprise his role as director, MCV reports.

Despite receiving poor reviews, last year's Resident Evil: Retribution grossed $221 million worldwide, making it the second most lucrative film in the series.

Earlier today it was also revealed that Crystal Dynamics is working with production company GK Films (The Departed, Rango, Hugo) to develop a new Tomb Raider movie.

Resident Evil publisher Capcom has announced a Resident Evil Revelations Unveiled Edition release date of May 21 in the US and May 24 in the UK. The game is an HD remake of last year's 3DS release.
