one of those areas was a favorite of mine in the original game , and that sniper position was rather sly , nobody noticed for awhile even though you missed a lot of shots ! by the way the video was purty darn bad !

Do games like Uncharted really need competitive multiplayer? I'd rather devs spend the money and resources on more story. I would have been happier with 2 hours more of the campain. I have uncharted 3 and never even touched the multiplayer. It's just cheap gimmicky game play spawn kill die over and over and over. The internet and cod are the worst things to ever happen to gaming. Maybe if I were 14 with the attention span of a spider monkey I'd think differently.

@jdc6305 Honestly, Uncharted's multiplayer is one of my most cherished multiplayer experiences. The verticality and platforming elements are what really shines. Jumping down from a ledge WHILE you're blindfiring in a third person shooter, and then killing the person before you land is just exhilarating. The pace is also very fast, but tactical I guess. There's usually always a way to get out of a situation if you're good enough. There's also a lot of depth with levels and tiered unlocks, and there are a lot of game modes, each very fun on their own right.

Uncharted 3 was actually the first multiplayer I ever hit the top level on. That's saying a lot for me, because not only do I play a lot of multiplayer games, but I've never really stuck to any of them enough to get to the top. This one was different because it didn't feel like a grind to me. I genuinely enjoyed every moment up to 75. I didn't legacy because I still wanted all my perk unlocks and such, but just the option to do so was incredible.

So, yeah, on the opposite end of your thoughts, I really think Uncharted benefited from a multiplayer.

@Red_Armadilloe Did you play UC2 multiplayer as well? Just curious if you could point out any differences between the two. I finally got around to UC2 recently and didn't find the multiplayer all that interesting, but the single player was pretty killer. Getting UC3, obviously but not sure whether to cop for the goty (all the dlc is mp focused right?) or just get the vanilla game for the campaign. It would take some serious improvements to get me into mp, but I'm open to it if worth it.

@kohle36 @Red_Armadilloe Yeah, I played it a bunch. It's much different for the simple fact that after patch 1.05, the game community became divided. I was on the side that hated the "weapon balances" of that patch and my enjoyment fell tremendously. Basically, it made it too fast to die, and therefore, since you could die fast, you couldn't platform as well. After 1.05, combat became VERY ground focused.

In UC3 pre-release interviews, the developers noted that the one thing they learned with UC2 was to not mess with the health after patch 1.05 completely wiped away the slate they were building. With that in mind, they went back to the original "uncharted feel" and focused on platforming over quick-kills. The result is an experience that you can't find anywhere except maybe the newly released tomb raider, but I haven't played that. I've only watched footage. It looks similar but not as polished or exciting.

In any case, UC3 multiplayer compared to UC2 post 1.05 is much more welcoming to platforming and climbing (which is a series staple). There are also many more levels, unlocks, a class system (only based on the default weapons...power weapons must still be picked up), and overall just creates a fun, strategic/frantic, fast-paced environment.

It's totally worth it, and much more refined from UC2 post 1.05. UC2 pre 1.05 still holds a special place in my heart, and I would consider that better than UC3, but after 1.05 dropped, UC3 is much better. Literally, the patch changed THAT much about the game. I couldn't stand it, and still can't after going back and playing it. It discourages platforming so much, and is based more on reflexes like COD. I hate it. UC3 brought back what I wanted :)

@Red_Armadilloe @jdc6305 Most of the people that play multiplayer don't even know how to play video games. They can balance weapons and perks all they want but once thing they can't balance is stupid noobs. 2/3 of multiplayer are dumb noobs. I don't find killing less skilled video gamers exhilarating. It's nothing more then cheap gimicky gameplay.

@CommanderShiro @hippiesanta Hey do you mean the dlc codes for the goty? Same thing happened to me with 2. By the time I got around to playing it, the dlc codes had expired. Who the fuck releases a goty like that?

CommanderShiro

@kohle36 @CommanderShiro @hippiesanta Yeah I bought UC3 GOTY. I read somewhere that dlc is on the disc. The code that isn't working for me is to actual code needed to play online without level cap, etc. At least I think so.... I bought UC2 Goty too, and luckily inputed the code a week before expiration

To make free to play work, don't over charge for items and attempt to make money from few users buying only a couple over priced items.

only thing worth playing on the F2P is this, DCU and Dust. Rest suck and free realms isnt actually free once you reach a level cap it boots you. I own UC3 but its good for people who dont would like to see other games get on here for free like Team Fortress 2 or some of the other MMO games on PC. A port of Champions Online would be nice but I doubt that will happen.
