everything is better in seattle because weed is legal there! weed=better games and weed= happier people,  and the rest of America besides Colorado is lame because of this fact. weed also makes grunge better and grunge is good. way better than macklebore. macklemore is the only thing seattle should be ashamed of and I am glad seattle is not another self-loathing hip-hop city like everyother city in the US, no one cares about your stupid city rappers or how you lived your life there, Id rather  hear happy stoners trying to find their inner darkness within low roaring guitars and sad depressing obscure lyrics. Nirvana= way better than the beatles!

I love how all of these game companies are focused on making sure their employees are happy and have fun at work.  Happy employees lead to quality products, these Seattle game companies are living proof!

I'm really glad they do video's in this style/format. Reminds me a bit of the old history channel documentaries but a bit more casual.

Yeah, but most of the talent there moved in from out of town. Seattle is a really bad place to live compared to ... well everywhere else in North America pretty much.

CryoIllusion

@SKaREO Yeah, dude you're just completely wrong. Seattle is always ranked in the top 50 cities to live in on earth for quality of life. From the tech/gaming scene to food to the outdoors: it's truly an amazing city. If a few clouds scare ya away..... bye.

@SKaREO You're stupid. Seattle is one of the greatest places to live in North America, and arguable the whole world. I've lived all across the United States, from Hawaii, to Los Angeles, to Seattle, to New York, and I found that Seattle is probably the place to live in the country.

Literally the only "bad thing" about living in Seattle is the constant drizzle of rain, but it's not even that bad, and whenever the sun shines, Seattle is THE Best place to live in.

Seattle has the "West Coast laid back" attitude, while being an amazingly modern city, with anything you can ask for. There's relatively low crime, the city is very clean, the air is fresh, and there's EVERYTHING you need within reach. You can come here to access the ocean, the nearby mountain, Vancouver CANADA which is only a few hours north, etc.

Every other place I lived in is much more dangerous, dirty, and expensive than Seattle. Seattle is the best.

I'm expecting to see more interesting games launching in April just like Age of Wushu.

A very good series of interviews.  Well done.  This makes me wish that I could get in such projects.

If they're so smart, why don't they bring Grunge back?

@DrKill09 I live in WA, and I mostly dislike Grunge. It's a bad style.

I wish I could afford to go to all the different institutions/universities I want to go to. DigiPen was originally on my list of places to choose from, but I ended up having to choose something a bit closer to home. It makes me sad because I feel like it would have been a GREAT place to study. :'(

My dream job is to become a game programmer.

VastGameMaster

I'm also learning programming too. I'm a vary logical person and I find it pretty easy. Programming is a hot field these days do to the lack of programmers especially for game design studios. I would suggest majoring in computer science where programming is involved.

@Scorchstar As a computer science student, I advise you to not just aim to be a "programmer".  A programmer is someone who can put down code and make it work, and many people can do that.  To make yourself really valuable, you have to know how to make really good code with all necessary commenting.  So when you build your games, make them good.  Very good.  Then you will be a valuable programmer.

What a great video guys!  I lived in Tacoma for 3 years and only knew about Microsoft.  Can't wait to go back now and visit all those places.  Keep up  the great vids!

Rofl! @ - 18:02   doggy suddenly appears in hes lap xD

And btw, awesome video, it really makes some of us wonder, and even think about doing something similiar with a bunch of friends that like games as much as we do. Great laid back team spirit on those companies(so it seemed), thus giving us great games.

This world needs to evolve quickly about how to manage/treat employes, for their own benefit.

This video oughta be a little example on how.

Cheers

@eyematter I attend Seattle Central Community College in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. One of the most vibrant neighborhoods I've seen. It's Seattle's version of Inman Park back in Atlanta.

@eyematter Spend half a year in Seattle with working visa, otherwise I'm from Slovenia. Fell in love with the city. More with incredibly awesome music culture and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I'm moving to BC Canada in a while just to be present there once more.

Very fascinating look at the Seattle developer community. I wish they would've interviewed Monolith Productions. Condemned is one of my favorite series. Warner Bros. needs to buy the rights from Sega (do they own the rights?) and fund a Condemned 3!
