| There are plenty of games on steam that have seperate login systems. BC2, MOH. Both have seperate login from steam, so it doesn't matter if you buy it retail or on steam. You can still play with everyone.
I think it's a BS concern, most of the big games like Medal of Honor and Battlefield and such won't divide the players, and even if they do get divided, how does that hurt the PC industry? People are still buying the game regardless of whether they can play with steam users. They probably don't even realize it.
