Comment:
Released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket was the first Gundam OAV series (not counting the parody Mobile Suit SD Gundam). It was also the first Gundam title not written or directed by co-creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. With the absence of Tomino in mind, the OAV was the first Gundam title not to feature any Newtype characters.
