A little self-promotion; Aaron standing outsideInteractiveTheatre.org News Page

Just a technical note - I'm moving the website in-house. Partially to save money (I already host the email and have a static address), partially because I can. There has also been a hiccup with an ISP merger and my getting into the sites. I have copies of it locally, and now it'll just mean I modify it locally as well.

I won't go into the whole spiel about it, because I've written about it here, but I've created a new discussion system that coveres what happens here at InteractiveTheatre.org. It's a central place for us to talk about our craft, our passion, and maybe even more importantly, just shoot the breeze. I invite you to read the explanation as to why I'm making the change, or to just log in and see yourself (no personal information is required, or even requested, just an id and password).

No, the site's not dead - it's only resting. :) I've added another group to the list of groups, and if/when I run into new research, it will be put onto the site as well.

I've started working on a new project; trying to come up with a book or manual on putting together educational theatre troupes, creating scenes, and keeping them together. It's an ambitious project, and I've just started, but I figure, if I plug away long enough, something will come out of it.

But to do it right, I need your help. I've put together three surveys, one for actors, one for administrators/directors, and one for audience members - so that it's relevant beyond my own experiences. If you're involved in, or know of a group, please feel free to invite other members to take this survey. Click here to see the surveys.

Also, there's another addition to the theatre group list: Skits Outreach Services (SOS) Players, from Wisconsin!

OK, so it's just a semantic change, but I've removed the "other" from the site subtitle. It was bugging me, because we all have more the learn, and I don't like sounding pretentious. :) There's some more things coming up soon, though.

Well, the surgery went well, although the recovery was too long for my taste (isn't that always the case. A couple changes to the site:

Just a note that I'm going to be having surgery on June 22 - there's likely to be very few, if any, updates to this site as I get ready, and then recover, from the procedure.

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that the educational theatre (edu-theatre) list is picking up steam! I may remove the bulletin board if this keeps up (after all, its rather pointless to duplicate services).

Welcome to the redesigned Sexual Assault Interactive Theatre! I decided that it was time to take the next step and obtain a domain name for the site, to make it easier to tell others about. While doing that, I also thought it would be a good time to give the site a little more polish as well.

The new site should still load fast (I believe the web is for exchanging information, not waiting for the next page to load), the content is the same, the layout roughly the same, but the look is a little more polished.

If you see a site that links to Sexual Assault Interactive theatre at www2.bitstream.net/~alpropes/theatre.html, please let the webmaster know that it's moved to www.interactivetheatre.org !

The "every 5 minutes" cable gig went off without a hitch (ok, a few, but that's show business). If you would like a tape, they can be obtained via the St. Paul Neighborhood Network.

I'm currently working on a large web project, a site for the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault, which is going to include manuals, literature, a children's area, and more. Since most of the material they have is not in electronic form, I'm spending a lot of time scanning in material, and then adjusting it for the web - during this time, I imagine I'll just be in "Maintenance Mode" as far as this site. I'll still be looking for new troupes (found one in Colorado), updating the listings I already have (like Gestic Theatre's new address and phone number in Illinois), but as for adding new material, my energy is currently going to MCASA's site. But don't let that stop you from suggesting something to me, OK?
