As you can see, I am quite serious I fully stand by the statements that are written on my t-shirts.

At an young age I was born small, naked, screaming, covered in goo, incapable of speech or even the simplest task. Over the course of my childhood in the Alberta rockies I would overcome these difficulties as well as taking up cross-country skiing, karate, and mountain biking. It was also in those days that I was introduced to PC gaming and began to show an interest in RPGs.

In my pre-teen and adolescent years I became a much bigger geek, diving headlong into fantasy fiction, comics, anime, manga, console gaming, as well as being introduced to pen and paper gaming through the time old technique of making the newbie play the cleric in a friend of a friend's 2nd ed. Forgotten Realms game. I love the Baldur's Gate series, as well as Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment and the fact that I could play through the same sorts of adventures as those games but with my friends is still pretty much the coolest thing in the world to me. I haven't stopped messing around with graph paper and polyhedral dice ever since.

University life has led me to spreading my nerdish tendencies to academia, cooking, beer, new media, and classic rock.

In person; I'm just as likely to spend a whole conversation cracking jokes as I am to not say a word. I'm a dog person. My favourite colour is electric blue. I prefer pie over cake, ales over lagers, The Stones over The Beatles, Hajime Katoki over Kunio Okawara, Spider-Man over Batman (unless it's in animation then it's vice-versa), and quiet afternoon with my ladyfriend over anything in the world.

As a gamemaster I'm laid back on the letter of the rules and run a game that's light in tone, heavy on awesome and with an action movie sensibility. As a player I tend to start from a well-worn cliche and write a nuanced and character from there.

&nsbp;  In his years with RPGamer has gone from dreaming of preaching analog games to JRPG addicts, to proselytizing story games to the d20 devotees, to just talking about whatever he feels like and is much happier that way.
