LinuxCon Europe 2012 will be held at the Hotel Fira Palace in Barcelona, Spain. Fira Palace is a luxury hotel offering some of the most spacious accommodations in the city and conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Barcelona. Just 20 minutes from the International Barcelona Airport and situated between the famous Plaza de España, Gran Via Avenue and the new shopping and entertainment centre ARENAS DE BARCELONA.

Getting to the Conference Daily

If you are staying at the B Hotel, please follow these simple walking directions to the Fira Palace. It is a 7-9 minute walk.

For those staying at the Hilton Barcelona, we will be offering a daily shuttle, departing the Hilton at 8:15am Monday - Friday.

The shuttle will return to the Hilton at the following times:

Monday, November 5 - 7:00pm
Tuesday, November 6 - 9:00pm
Wednesday, November 7 - 6:00pm
Thursday, November 8 - 8:00pm
Friday, November 9 - 5:00pm

If you do not want to use the shuttle, you can either take a taxi or the metro. Each option should take 20 minutes.

B Hotel is located on the Plaza de España just 3 blocks from the Fira Palace. It is also located next to Los Arenas (a large dining and shopping complex) and the Metro station. It is a boutique hotel rated 3.5 stars.

Ayre Hotel Gran Via

Room Rates: Between EUR112/night and EUR130/night + VAT

Ayre Hotel is located 6 short blocks from the Fira Palace, also on the Plaza de España. It is a 4 star, recently built hotel located right on the metro line.

Hilton Barcelona Hotel

Room Rates: EUR 175/night (includes internet and VAT)

The Hilton is located on Avenida Diagonal, a 10 minute drive from the Fira Palace Hotel.  Public transportation will get you to the Fira Palace within 20 minutes, and a conference shuttle will run between the two hotels twice each day, Monday - Wednesday only.  This hotel is a 4.5 star hotel, and was fully renovated last year.
