At LinuxCon, we promise to not only deliver cutting edge content and top technical talent, but we’re also making it our mission that you have a great time while you are there. To that end, keep an eye on this ever expanding list of social events and activities designed to add to your LinuxCon experience.

Evening Events

Tuesday, August 10th, 6:30-9:30pm
Welcome Reception and Bowling for Penguins Tournament at Jillian's/Lucky Strike Lanes
Head on over for some R&R and the end of Day 1 of LinuxCon...play some pool, relax with friends or participate in the 2nd Annual Bowling for Penguins tournament. All attendees should attend this event which includes complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Bus transportation will be provided to/from the Renaissance beginning at 5:45pm.

Wednesday, August 11th, 7:00-10:00pm
Set sail on the LinuxCon Boston Harbor Cruise!
This evening event, sponsored by Intel, is from 7-10pm on Wednesday, August 11th. Space is limited so interested attendees need to visit the Activities Desk across from Registration to pick up a Boarding Card to ensure their spot on this fantastic odyssey. Buffet dinner, drinks and fabulous views are included.

Meet-Ups

Join other LinuxCon attendees for an ice cream social organized by Ruth Suehle at the Ben & Jerry's across from the hotel at 6:30pm on Monday, August 9th.

Attendee Lounges

Pacific Attendee Lounge & Technology Showcase - Pacific Ballroom A-C This is the place to be when you aren't in conference sessions to grab a snack, relax with other attendees, check email and visit the companies exhibiting in our Technology Showcase.

24/7 Hacker Lounge

A place for developers and hackers to meet 24 hours a day to hack away! The Georges room on the 4th floor will be open 24 hours a day throughout LinuxCon for your hacking and meeting needs.

GnuPG/PGP-Keysigning

August 10th, 11th, and 12th - 9:00pm until 11:00pm
Location: Lobby/Bar of Renaissance Boston Waterfront (Marriott)

What to bring with you:

• Valid ID-Card/Passport
• Plenty of paperslips with your GPG/PGP-Keydetails (Try gpg-key2ps -p letter YOUR_KEY_ID > mypaperslips.ps and print this file beforehand.)

Onsite Activities

Complimentary chair massage will be offered onsite daily for attendees. What else can you expect? Wii gaming stations and other fun surprises! LinuxCon Bookstore and Merchandise Store. Border's will be onsite selling all the newest Linux titles - grab those books you've had your eye on! And for all that gear you've seen on our Linux.com merchandise store....you can purchase here at LinuxCon. T-shirts and stickers and beanies, oh my!

Raffle Prizes

We will be raffling away some great prizes after keynote sessions each day, including Linux books, Think Geek gift certificates and more. Don't miss these sessions to win! You will be entered in the raffle upon registration.
