Date: Friday, June 3rd There are several open source based IaaS software, but OpenStack is the prime candidate because it addresses both large scale HPC computing and cloud service provider scalability, and its development process is completely open. In addition, companies working on business systems are joining to the community one after another because of the openness and scalability. First of all, this talk gives technical overview of OpenStack and how the community is working on the project. Next, this talk explores design and implementation of Live Migration support in OpenStack. This talk is accessible to all technical levels. Users can understand how OpenStack is applicable to their business. Engineers with basic knowledge of information systems will understand what is it and how OpenStack works. Experts will improve understanding on OpenStack design and implementation details.
Kei Masumoto, NTT Data CorporationKei Masumoto is an expertise of operating system, security and cloud computing. His experience include also builing up an open source based educational cloud service. He is leading OpenStack related development activity at NTT DATA CORPORATION. Especially, he proposed adding Live Migration feature to OpenStack at the OpenStack 2nd Design Summit in Texas and played the leading role of the development activity. His team worked on forming the Japan OpenStack Users Group(JOSUG) in 2010 and has been trying to get people involved to the OpenStack user/developer community. |
