Development of OSS-Based Practical IT Training Courses

Date: 3:35pm, Monday, September 27th
Location: Quarante C4
Topic: Ecosystem
Presentation: {Slides}

The OSS curriculum for university, technical school, and company training, which is designed by IPA(Information-technology Promotion Agancy, JAPAN), covers not only the general information technology issues but also OSS/Linux specific topics. Based on the curriculum, we developed a series of guidance document that is practical and can be used in the field of IT education. And we are now providing OSS-training courses at several universities. In my presentation, I would like to illustrate the detailed information on the guidance document and the training courses. Since the curriculum and the training materials are now available on the Web, and teachers can use them freely under the Creative Commons license, I believe that my presentation will be quite helpful for anyone who are in charge of IT education.
