libvirt
Date: 2:40pm, Tuesday, September 28th libvirt is an open source virtualization management library that is the foundation for a variety of management applications, whether command line tools, local desktop apps, or large data center and cloud management engines. The talk will start by outlining the libvirt architecture, hypervisor & platform support, the scope of its management APIs and ways of consuming them from different programming languages & object models (DMTF/ CIM). It will then explore in further detail, the functionality libvirt adds above & around the KVM hypervisor, including sVirt mandatory access control, network packetfiltering and secure remote management. The talk will end by considering how libvirt is used in cloud platforms and the relationship to the DeltaCloud project.

Daniel Berrange, Red HatDaniel Berrange has been an open source developer at Red Hat for 8 years, specializing in virtualization management tools since early 2006.
