Test Projects

Hisashi Hashimoto

There are several test projects in the world of linux. These projects have their own targets and goals, and have been working their own way. One test project is targeting to develop the framework to enable all test cases run automatically. The other test project is developing the test cases for all interface between application and kernel, including not only system calls but also user land level libraries. My proposal is to have an opportunity to gather all test related engineers at one place, and let them talk, discuss their activities and enable their development more fruitfull. Candidate projects are LTP, Autotest, LSB and so on. My project, crackerjack, which is targeting to find the difference of behavior of system calls between several kernels such as distribution, vanilla kernels. And providing that information to both application developers and kernel developers for the purpose of ease of application porting, and fixing the regression.
